The January to February stretch can feel like a bajillion years when the weather is sucky (like it is now…its -21 degrees celsius for crying out loud!). So there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing Spring and Easter stuff fill store shelves, even if it’s pastel overload at times and the decor includes scary smiling rabbits (who look like they eat children).
In getting in the spring/Easter spirit (while steering clear of pastels and bunnies-who-kill), heres a ridiculously easy Egg-cessory (hehe) you can seriously whip out in less than a minute, and even enlist the help of tiny hands.
All you need are wooden beads (I used 3/4 inch sized ones from Michaels), and some ribbon (the stiffer, the easier to slip through the bead). You could even use thin wire, leather string (which I’m now wishing I did), or some colourful string… the possibilities are pretty much endless.
I found 7 beads to be the perfect amount.
Then just tie the ends, snip off the excess, and your holder is ready! That’s it!
Easter never looked so clean and minimal.
If you do crave a bit of oomph to your ouef, dress the eggs up, or even paint the beads like I did for this popular knock-off.
I hope you have a fantastic weekend! It’s a long weekend here in Ontario (for Family Day), so we’ll be doing some last-minute Valentines cookie decorating and crafting. Not to mention, staying the heck out of the polar vortex.
What are you up to in your neck of the woods? :)
