giving a plain storage ottoman new life.

So, you know those pseudo-suede storage ottomans you see in Wal-mart, or other such fine establishments?

Well, we received one for a wedding gift (thank you, dear guest), and every time we tripped on it in our living room, it's served as a lovely reminder of our nuptials.

It looked very similar to what you see here (unfortunately I forgot a before shot), except the fake-suede on it was stretched and sort of sagging on all sides (even though we barely used it!).

It came with a smaller box inside, almost like a russian doll, but a lot less exciting, as it was too small to be used for anything. I decided to give the ottoman some use & give it a pizzazz-y makeover (rather than leaving it as a stumbling block, literally).

My MIL used left over material from the baby bedding, and stapled it directly to the ottoman like so:

Sorry, we forgot to take any pictures of the process, but this is what it looked like in the end...

And it's lil' sidekick also received a facelift using some taupe suzani fabric also leftover from the crib.

I think I might just use the smaller guy for when my little man wants a comfy stool to sit on while reading.

These chic guys are definitely making my frumptastic nursing chair look extra ghetto by comparison...

It just reminds you of what a little bit of leftover fabric can do!
