I just might be the last person in the blogosphere to not have a silhouette cameo machine, so I guess I'm doing this craft 'ye ol' fashioned way: scissors.
I wanted to have a framed silhouette of our dog, but because she's usually too wild to get a picture of her standing still, I decided to look online for a similar looking dog.
I found a picture similar here, and printed it and enlarged it to the size I wanted. Then I cut it out very carefully (at this point I was wishing I had a machine to do it for me!)
Then I traced it onto the back of a pretty patterned piece of scrapbook paper,
and cut 'er out (again, wishing I asked Santa for a silhouette machine at this point...)
I used double-sided tape and placed it onto another piece of paper.
et voila.
Seriously easy silhouette art that I'm sure Mr. silhouette-cameo-himself would be proud of!

Have a wonderful Friday!! (on a side note, I totally love this piece you created. I don't have a cameo either, just my good old cricut :)I think you did a great job, the old fashioned way!)
Thank you, Jodi! I love awards of any kind! I'd better start writing away! And I'm glad we can enjoy a bit of the old fashioned ways of arts n' crafts!
DeleteHa I don't have a machine either. But I have seen all the silhouette animals around and have been thinkin' about doin' one too. I'll remember to keep it a simple shape, ie, not a lot of fur. :)
ReplyDeleteLove this! I'm having a baby in April and this would be a fun project to add to the nursery. Now to find a silhouette of my dog breed...mine would never stand still that long, either! ;)

Lol! I'm glad my dog isn't the only 'active' dog out there ;)
DeleteNice! See, we can still do things by hand! :)
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking of doing this for my daughter's room and I do own a cricut just haven't found the right images.
ReplyDeleteThis is great! You certainly are creative! Love the colors, the size... everything about it!
