thankfully there is no direct human-to-human interaction when blogging, so you're safe from seeing me get weird. ;)
I recently received a Liebster award (and several homework questions to think about) from Lucy at design fluff (and have also received this from Nancy at A Life Designed awhile ago, but forgot to thank her for it! *tsk*tsk* where are my manners?!). Thank you, ladies! :)
It is always so much fun to get to know fun facts about people in the blogosphere, and to turn around and share the award with others!
Here are Lucy's questions, and my answers:
1. Do you have goals/ambitions to make a living blogging?
I am open to anything, but I am not focusing on making a living off this blog (although the thought of not sitting in morning traffic sounds pretty good!)
2. Who is your biggest blog crush, and why?
hm... this question stumped me for awhile, but if I had to choose, I'd say Jenny from little green notebook because I just love her attention to detail, and how she just comes up with fun design transformations. Also, I just adore Taza from Love Taza (formerly Rockstar Diaries). Seriously, her kids are stinkin' cute and she makes motherhood look fashionably easy!
3. What plans do you have, if any, to improve the look and/or quality of your blog content for the New Year?
I haven't thought about having a new year's resolution for my blog, but now that I think of it, I probably should! Well, as for quality of blog content, I want to balance blogging about all things crafty & diy, with my new stage in life as a mother. I don't know if I want it to become a blog just about babies n' all things maternal, but I'm fine with it growing with me, and reflecting who I am.
4. & 5. Have you ever lived in a haunted house? If so, give us some details.
Nope, never have, and I don't think I would want to... I used to love scary movies, but for some reason I've turned into a sucker with age... even the smallest creak in my non-haunted house makes my ridiculous imagination run wild, and I'm always afraid I'll turn a corner and see pale ghost child standing there... see? My imagination is sick.
6. Do you feel comfortable offering personal details on your blog? (i.e. blog photos, where you live, etc)
I try to limit the personal information and photos in my blog content. My 'life as of late' posts usually serve as little windows into my life, but they aren't too personal that (if a student of mine happened to find the blog) I wouldn't fret about anything. Maybe I'm a weird paranoid teacher to think that way...
7. Are you currently reading any blogging tip books or planning to buys any? Which ones?
Um, I would love to say yes to this, but I'm struggling to even get through pamphlets on pregnancy & labour. I usually Google what I need to read (but if there were a book called 'making mood boards for dummies', I'd be all over that!)
8. Name all your favourite TV shows you are currently watching or catching up on.
My favourite shows would have to be anything with Gordon Ramsay (he's the epitome of cool), Modern Family, the Office, Sharks Tank, Dragon's Den, X-factor, America's Next Top Model, and (shameful to admit it) my guilty pleasure is Real Housewives of New Jersey. I'm realizing just how much reality tv I watch... scary.
9. Flats or heels?
Flats mainly. I'll break out the heels only for special occasions, but my toes and back always pay a price... sigh, I'm no longer a spring chicken. ;)
10. What is your favourite design trend this year?
If my hubby was not such a control freak over the design in our house, I would be basking in animal prints, gold hardware, and furs, but alas, I also know I'm pretty indecisive and could change my mind in 10 minutes, so maybe it's a good thing I don't go too crazy. lol
11. Favourite skin care gadgets/treatments, and favourite makeup?
I'm a lazy bum when it comes to face care; my beauty regiment is using a $2 bar of tea tree oil soap, Clinique's moisturizer:
and on bright days I use this sunscreen.
As for makeup, I don't use foundation, but swear by NAR's 'deep throat' blush (and blush at the name!), a lip gloss from Bath n' Body works, and a good waterproof eyeliner. Anything more is for a wedding or special occasion. :)
If you're dying to know more, you can go here to see another response to a blog award.
And to extend this torch of happiness, I nominate the following ladies for the Liebster award:
Shannon @ 8footsix
Kacey @ Shes.No.Martha
Julie @ Less-Than-Perfect Life of Bliss
&
Mareth @ Lime Riot

Here are some celebratory questions you can answer as your acceptance speech for this award ;)
(I'll keep it short, sweet, and light-hearted for the end of the year):
1. If you were stranded on an island and could bring only three things, what would they be? (you can be as practical or impractical as you like)
2. What is a habit or quirk that you have that people close to you have pointed out?
3. What fictional character from a movie/TV show/book do you most relate to? (or are similar to?)
4. What is one lesson learned from this year that you would like to share with us?
Well, that concludes my rant & award-giving!
I hope you have a wonderful Sunday, and thanks for reading (assuming you didn't lose interest when you scrolled and saw the ridiculous amount of text ahead of you) ;)
xo,

Thanks, Jane! I better get writing! I have never received a blog award so thanks for being my FIRST nominator!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I loved reading your answers! You are so funny! I have the same wild imagination when it comes to scary things! I'm definitely with you on the style of the house. I think I might be dripping in gold, furs, and all that stuff this year, too.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your pregnancy.:)
