My dilemma: My walls currently have nothing on them, except for mirrors & our wedding photos... and I'm thirsty for colour in our home!
So, I came across some neat art work on the Internet using paint chips! I thought, I have a lot of those
And one night when the hubby and I took a trip to Ikea, we spotted this.
*angels singing*
Immediately the blank wall that faced the stairs to the second floor flooded my mind and I knew something needed to happen.
With a Ribba frame, I considered the possibility of an all-yellow ombre motif
which slowly grew into an all-coloured, grey-ombre, tropical mosaic, you-name-it-I-was-confused motif...
then finally, I decided to use navy blue & yellow as my colours.
With pre-cut Foam mounting tape (less than $5 from Michaels),
With my cut-out squares (I wanted them to be imperfect), I mounted them carefully
into this.
It currently occupies the barren space that faced the stairs
and provides a touch of colour to an unassuming space.
It also can also be put in any room, really (you can use a rainbow array of colour or just bring in colours already in the room). So when I get bored of it (which knowing me, I will), I can just let it hang somewhere else.
it's a great alternative for a non-art-committal person like me :)

Nice! Don't you just love the 3D look you get with mounting tape and the colours you chose are perfect! Great job!
